What is this medicine?
DESLORATADINE (des lor AT a deen) is an antihistamine. It helps to relieve sneezing, runny nose, and itchy, watery eyes. This medicine is used to treat or prevent symptoms of allergies. It is also used to treat itchy skin rash and hives.
This medicine may be used for other purposes; ask your health care provider or pharmacist if you have questions.
Active ingredient: Desloratadine 5mg
Inactive ingredients: anhydrous lactose, colloidal silicon dioxide, FD&C Blue#2/Indigo Carmine Aluminium Lake, hydrogenated vegetable oil, hypromellose, microcrystalline cellulose, polyethylene glycol, pregelatinized starch, titanium dioxide.

How should I use this medicine?
Take this medicine by mouth with a glass of water. Follow the directions on your prescription label. You may take this medicine with food or on an empty stomach. Take your medicine at regular intervals. Do not take it more often than directed.
Talk to your pediatrician regarding the use of this medicine in children. Special care may be needed. This medicine has been used in children as young as 12 years.
Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of this medicine contact a poison control center or emergency room at once. NOTE: This medicine is only for you. Do not share this medicine with others.
What if I miss a dose?
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can. If it is almost time for your next dose, take only that dose. Do not take double or extra doses.

What should I watch for while using this medicine?
Visit your doctor or health care professional for checks on your progress. Tell your doctor if your symptoms do not improve.
You may get drowsy or dizzy. Do not drive, use machinery, or do anything that needs mental alertness until you know how this medicine affects you. Do not stand or sit up quickly, especially if you are an older patient. This reduces the risk of dizzy or fainting spells. Alcohol may interfere with the effect of this medicine. Avoid alcoholic drinks.
Where should I keep my medicine?
Keep out of the reach of children.
Store between 36 and 77 degrees F (2 and 25 degrees C). Never store above 86 degrees F (30 degrees C). Protect from moisture. Throw away any unused medicine after the expiration date.
